Laois schoolgirl cuts her hair for children's charity

A KIND schoolgirl who donated her long blond hair to make wigs for sick children has more than doubled her fundraising target.
First class pupil Poppy Behan, who attends Rath NS in Ballybrittas, hoped to raise €250 when she took part in the Locks of Love for LauraLynn campaign.
She was overjoyed when the total climbed above €600 on 6 November, with donations still pouring in for her fundraiser that will remain open until 31 January 2025.
The seven-year-old bravely chopped her beautiful waist-length hair into a shoulder-length bob, donating more than 12 inches of hair to The Little Princess Trust which creates free natural wigs for children undergoing treatment for cancer or other conditions.
While very happy with her new hairstyle, Poppy is even more delighted that her fundraiser is well on the way to trebling the original target and will help ill children enduring difficult medical treatment and hair loss.
Donations can be made online at ‘Poppy Behan’s fundraising page – Locks of Love for LauraLynn’ and all funds raised will go directly to LauraLynn Ireland Children's Hospice.
Poppy and her family thanked everyone who supported the fundraiser and/or shared the online page to help the important cause.
