Laois schoolgirls bring ‘The Wizard of Oz’ to the stage in Port

ALL OF the girls in Presentation Primary School, Portarlington had a busy few weeks practicing and perfecting their school musical , which took place in their school, earlier this month.
More than 100 pupils were involved in the musical, including the cast, a large chorus and lots of others behind the scenes as well as the stage crew and front-of-house team.
The talented cast, who transported the audience to the magical land of Oz, included Katelynn Geoghegan as Dorothy; Chloe O’Connor, the Tin Man; Lilly Ryan as the Scarecrow; Ellen Finn, the Cowardly Lion; Aisling Brady as the Wicked Witch of the West; Lily Intharaphan, Glinda the Good Witch and Caoimhe Killeen as the Wizard of Oz. And not forgetting other pupils, too, like the Munchkins, Flying Monkeys, Mice and the residents of Oz and Kansas.
The pupils involved would love to thank everyone who helped make this musical possible, especially the wonderful production team of teachers and SNAs.
All of the shows were completely sold out.
