Man airlifted to hospital after e-scooter accident in Graiguecullen

Gardaí have confirmed that earlier today, 7 July, an adult male was airlifted to hospital after a single person e-scooter accident in Graiguecullen in Carlow town.

The accident occurred shortly after 11.30am.

A man in his 20s has been taken to a Dublin hospital to be treated for his injuries. The air ambulance landed on the grounds of St Patrick's Boy's Athletic Football Club close by.

The accident happened on the Castlecomer Road, between Chaff Street and Mount Clare Court. A partial road closure remains in place as Gardaí investigate the incident. There are Gardaí on site directing traffic.

This accident occurs just over a week after 17-year-old Janis Ghirghircic Ozols tragically died after falling off an e-scooter on Carpenters Way in Carlow town.
