Man in his 30s arrested after man in his 60s found dead in a Laois hotel

Gardaí say that they are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the death of a man at a hotel in Laois this evening Tuesday 12 November.
Shortly before 8pm this evening, gardaí were alerted to an incident at the hotel where a man in his 60s was found deceased.
One man in his 30s was arrested and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station.
The services of the Garda Technical Bureau and Office of the State Pathologist have been requested.
A Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) has been appointed to lead the investigation and an incident room has been established at Portlaoise Garda Station.
A Family Liaison Officer (FLO) will be appointed to support the family of the deceased.
Investigations are ongoing.
