Open day at Portlaoise Garda Station

AN open day will be held in Portlaoise Garda Station on Sunday 1 December.

The family fun evets begin with a special sensory-friendly hour from noon to 1pm, with the general public welcome from 1pm to 3pm.

Gardaí say that everyone is welcome to explore and enjoy a variety of activities that showcase the work they do in the community.

Among the highlights will be a performance by the Garda Band and a tour around the station as well as interactive exhibits with Civil Defence and Fire Services in Laois.

You will also have the opportunity to meet the Little Blue Heroes, explore garda vehicles, including the dog and mounted units, and view scenes of crime and public order displays.
