A GENEROUS parent has presented more than 30 new laptops to a Laois boys’ primary school.
There were great celebrations at Scoil Phádraig Naofa (St Patrick’s BNS) in Mountmellick this week, when Margaret Scott donated over 30 laptops to the school.
Margaret’s son Ryan, who is in second class, was joined by his delighted classmates and school principal John Murrell during the presentation on Monday, 14 September.
Describing the donation as a wonderful gift to the school community, Mr Murrell said it would make ‘a real difference to our pupils and their learning’.
Margaret made the presentation to the school, which has nearly 190 pupils, through the Fidelity Cares programme, which supports communities through educational programmes and volunteerism.
School management said on social media: ‘These laptops will provide our pupils with valuable opportunities to develop their digital skills, explore new ways of learning and access educational resources.
‘Thank you, Margaret and thank you to Fidelity Cares for helping us to support their learning and future success. We are so grateful for your kindness, generosity and support of our school community.’
The school added: ‘The Fidelity Cares programme is dedicated to giving back to communities through educational programmes and volunteerism and we are truly grateful to see that commitment making such a positive impact in our school.’
