TO celebrate Culture Night in Laois a colourful event that included music, song, art, poetry and food was held in the Link Centre at Urban Farm in St Fintan's Hospital, Portlaoise.
It was an amazing event with so many different performances, beautiful Nigerian food, a crepe van, art exhibition, information stands and more.
A range of cultures was on show including Mexican, Ukrainian, Irish and Nigerian.
Renato Gomez Ferreira gave a talk on Mexican Culture. Joan Pearson recited a poem about recovery as Gaeilge. The Ukrainian Children’s Choir – Bells - directed by musical director Oksana Biechvaia gave an outstanding performance. Nigerian Culture Group Azeezat Saka, Khadijah Saka and Bolaji Adeyanju gave a workshop on drumming, dance and a presentation about their culture.
