Popular Laois businesswoman celebrates her 100th birthday
Julia Bergin from Abbeyleix celebrating her 100th birthday, yesterday
A significant milestone was reached in Abbeyleix, yesterday when local woman Julia Bergin from the Leinster House Drapery shop, lower Main Street, Abbeyleix, celebrated her 100th birthday. Described as "An absolute fantastic lady", Julia was surrounded by her family and many of her friends who called to wish her a happy birthday. Julia has now reached a benchmark for an elite club of senior citizens. Great excitement here today also as Julia receives her letter and cheque from President Michael D Higgins.
In a post on the Abbeyleix Facebook page, it stated: 'I’m sure the Abbeyleix community at large will join us in wishing Julia a very happy birthday as she celebrates this very special day with her friends and family;.
