Portarlington Parent and Toddler Group host successful Christmas Toy Swap

Laying out their stalls at the Portarlington Parent and Toddler Group Christmas Toy Swap

The Portarlington Parent and Toddler Group recently held a heartwarming toy swap at the Portarlington Community Centre, bringing families together while easing the burden of holiday expenses.

Parents were invited to exchange gently used toys, giving them a second life and ensuring children in the community have something special to enjoy this festive season.

The initiative was met with enthusiasm, with many families finding new treasures for their little ones. Organisers say the event was about more than toys, it was about fostering community spirit and helping one another during a time when costs can feel overwhelming.

The Group meets every Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Portarlington Community Centre, offering a welcoming space for parents, carers, babies, and toddlers to connect, play, and support each other. New members are always welcome.

There are still some toys available from the swap, and anyone who may be struggling this year is encouraged to reach out.

It’s a chance to put something under the tree and bring joy to a child without added financial stress.
