Portlaoise panto takes to stage from this Saturday
Rehearsals in full swing for Portlaoise Panto's production of
PORTLAOISE pantomime is back and it’s celebrating 41 glittering years of local panto magic.
The panto promises the side-splitting, topsy-turvy comedy running from 17-24 January, with performances at 2pm and 7.30pm.
This year, a simple spelling mistake sends the classic fairytale spinning into delightful chaos. Instead of the familiar bears, audiences will meet the three Beours â three unforgettable characters named Cat, Wanda and Nada, whose wild antics kick off a whirlwind of mix-ups, mischief, music and mayhem. Packed with pop songs, puns, dance numbers and classic pantomime fun, this fast-paced show promises belly laughs for audiences of all ages.
At its heart, is a joyful celebration of community, creativity and the magic of coming together, proving that even in a world full of errors, friendship and laughter always lead to a happy ending.
The show is written by Rory Chadwick, directed by Richard Mansworth, with musical direction by Sarah Troy and choreography by Lea Carroll.
Tickets are priced at adult €24, child €18, group rate: €19, valid for groups of ten plus for evening shows on Tuesday and Wednesday, 19-20 January only.
