A LOTTO ticket worth almost €390,000 was sold in a Portlaoise supermarket at the weekend.

The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on Saturday at the SuperValu store in Parkside, on the town’s Abbeyleix Road.

The lucky player matched five numbers and the bonus in the main draw to win a whopping €389,066.

The ticket was bought on the day of the draw on 6 June, when the winning numbers were 18, 26, 30, 37, 38, 44 and the bonus was 35.

It was a great weekend for the midlands, as a Westmeath player scooped €250,000 in the Lotto Plus 2 draw on Saturday night. The winning Quick Pick ticket was sold on the day of the draw at Tesco Mullingar, Ash Road, Mullingar.

A National Lottery spokesperson said today: “We are encouraging all of our players, particularly in Laois and Westmeath, to carefully check their tickets today, as there are two ticket holders out there with prizes worth €389,066 and €250,000 waiting to be claimed.

‘The winners are advised to sign the back of their tickets and keep them safe. They should contact our Prize Claims team on 1800 666 222 and arrangements will be made for them to collect their prizes.’ Saturday night’s Lotto draw saw over 77,000 players nationwide win prizes across the Lotto and Plus draws, including the Match 5+Bonus winner and the Lotto Plus 2 top prize winner.

As there was no winner of the €3,067,628 jackpot on offer, Wednesday’s jackpot is now set to roll towards an estimated €3.5 million.
