RENOWNED Clinical Psychologist, Radio and TV broadcaster, author and columnist Dr. David Coleman will be the guest speaker in Ballyfin National Scholl on Thursday 21 November at 7.30pm where he will deliver a talk on ‘Helping children and teenagers build resilience and self-esteem’.

All proceeds from ticket sales, which costs €25 each and available online at https://buytickets.at/ballyfinnspc/1384603 will go directly towards funding the community project Ballyfin National School’s Astro Pitch.

In a world where many parents instinctively protect their children from hardship, Dr. Coleman’s presentation will explore how young people can benefit from experiencing and overcoming life’s challenges.

Dr. Coleman said: “Without some experience of suffering, how can children learn that they cannot just survive adversity, but thrive afterward?” His talk aims to equip parents and guardians with skills to support children in developing emotional resilience and self-confidence. Drawing on years of expertise he will share practical intervention strategies that empower young people to face life’s inevitable ups and downs with confidence.

Known for his engaging style, he combines his extensive knowledge with humour and relatable stories, making this an informative and enjoyable event for all.

There will also be a Q&A session which will afford attendees the opportunity to ask questions and discuss real-life situations.
