Rally in support of peace and justice in Palestine is taking place in Portlaoise on Saturday 21 June.
A RALLY in support of peace and justice in Palestine is taking place in Portlaoise on Saturday 21 June.
The rally is organised by Laois Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) in conjunction with Carlow IPSC.
Those attending are asked to assemble at 1pm at the Civic Plaza at Laois County Council offices, off James Fintan Lalor Avenue.
A short, peaceful march will go through the town returning to the plaza where there will be music, poetry and brief words, including Palestinian voices and singer songwriter Jimi Cullen.

Organisers say that the rally will be a peaceful and family-friendly event and warmly encourage groups and individuals to bring along homemade banners, signs or any creative artwork that expresses their hopes for peace, solidarity and justice.
A spokesperson for the organisers Emily Barrett said: “In these times of continued violence and hardship for the Palestinian people, your presence and voice can help shine a light on the urgent need for peace, dignity, and human rights.
“The rally is not a political event, but a heartfelt expression of solidarity with the people of Palestine during their greatest time of need. It’s a stand for humanity, compassion and peace.”
