Santa and his elves gets set to pull into Stradbally train station

THE Santa Christmas Train Experience in Stradbally Woods is being spruced up and its crew preparing to meet and greet the many children of all ages who will be taking a magical trip through the enhancing woodlands over the next few weeks.

The timetable for the annual Christmas journey through the woods takes place on Saturday 30 November and Sunday 1 December.

After that the train will be pulling out of the station for the 45-minute journey and running on Saturdays and Sundays 7 and 8 and on 14 and 15 December. 

The first trains each day will be a sensory train designed to cater to those with additional needs, ensuring a comfortable and magical experience for everyone.

As you arrive at the Welcome Hut, jolly little elves will be there to greet you, check you in, give you your train ticket and some magic reindeer dust to spread out on the big night. You might also want to get your face painted with some reindeer antlers?

Then the magic starts. 

You’ll be entertained with laughter and joy on the magical train station platform until it’s time to hop aboard the famous Róisín for your train ride the magic forest. 

Keep your eyes peeled for Santa's Reindeer and all the little furry friends out along the tracks.

You can also post your special Christmas wishes in Santas Special Post Box as well as look at some vintage tractors and engines before finishing off your trip with a visit to Santa himself where each child will receive an extra special present.

Tickets for adults, senior an those aged between 13 and 17 cost €11.50 each. Tickets for children aged from 12 months to 12 years old cost €22 each while tickets for babies up to 12 moths are priced at €10 each.

Tickets are available online until the midnight before the selected date on irishsteam.net or can be purchased from the shop next to the station platform on the day of your visit.
