Students fêted at end-of-year awards in Clonaslee College
Students from Clonaslee College at their annual end-of-year awards night
STUDENTS, parents and teachers from Clonaslee College gathered recently for the school’s annual awards ceremony.
The school community came together for an inspiring evening at this year’s annual awards night, where the students were recognised for their achievements, dedication and talent across academics, the arts, sports and leadership.
From language scholars to sports stars, the school praised each award recipient who represented the spirit of excellence, perseverance and community that defines the school.
The academic awards were presented to Mary-Kate Cuddy (Junior French Student of the Year), Clodiagh Kennedy (Senior French Student of the Year), Niamh Kelly (Senior Agricultural Science Student of the Year), Clodiagh Kennedy (Maths Student of the Year), Sorcha Kelly (Junior Art Student of the Year), Cara Donogher (Senior Art Student of the Year), Yaroslav Kravtsov (EAL Student of the Year), Lennon Conroy (Junior Cert 2023 Best Results), Mary-Kate Cuddy (Overall Junior Student of the Year).
The TY ‘Intro to Ag’ LOETB competition winners were Jack Kelly, Jack Hyland, Conor O'Shea and Lennon Conroy.
The LOETB maths competition winners were Cadhla Barrett, Mary-Kate Cuddy, Jack Kelly and Ollie Dooley.
Awards were presented to STEAM project participants Conor McCann, Jack Crowley, Iwinosa Ighiwiyisi, Wealth Osamuewose, Daisy Ighiwiyisi and Olawale Olalekan Agboola.
Students who demonstrated outstanding commitment to the values and ethos of the school were presented with awards. They were: Sarah Downes, Shay Conroy, Senan O’Brien and Katelyn Bennett.
The All-Stars Awards, which honour excellence in leadership, commitment and contribution to school life, were presented to Órán Fitzpatrick, Alec McEvoy Lynam, Liam Gibson, Arran Cassidy and Fiachra Geoghegan.
In the Sports Awards Ladies Gaelic Football category, Abbie Rosney was named as U14 Player of the Year, Áine Conroy (Junior Player of the Year), Caoimhe Fitzpatrick (Senior Player of the Year), Grace Kelly (Junior Camogie Player of the Year).
In the football awards category: Aidan Byrne (First and second Year Footballer of the Year), Billy Byrne and Senan O'Brien (Junior Footballers of the Year), James Dunne (Senior Footballer of the Year).
In hurling: Charlie Conroy (First and Second Year Hurler of the Year), Manus Dunne (Senior Hurler of the Year).
Senior Soccer Player of the Year was Dylan Gorman.
The Basketballer of the Year award went to Noreen Carroll; Second Year Basketballer of the Year, Susan Conroy; Junior Basketballer of the Year, Grace Kelly and Senior Basketballer of the Year, Amelia Dunne.
