The fourth annual Laois Pride Festival is taking place in Portlaoise

The Laois Pride Festival is taking place from Monday to Sunday 8 to 14 September in Portlaoise
MIDLANDS LGBT+ Project and Laois Pride have just announced the final details of the fourth Laois Pride Festival which is taking place from Monday to Sunday 8 to 14 September in Portlaoise.
The week will be filled with events from a clothes swap, a clothing upcycling workshop to a gaymes night and a pet friendly walk.
The Pride festival showcases the incredible diversity and inclusivity in Laois and celebrates the LGBT+ community.
The highlight of the weeklong event takes place on Saturday 13 September with the ever-popular Laois Pride Parade and the family friendly festival.
The Pride Parade begins at 12 noon from Fitzmaurice Place, and everyone is welcome to join in or line the streets waving the parade on.
At 1pm at Laois School of Music there will be a free pride fun day with games, market vendors, performances and more.
For the main night-time event there will be drag queens and performances from sing along social and more at Kavanagh’s Bar and Venue on the town’s Lower Main Street.
Laois Pride is organised by Midlands LGBT+ Project, the only dedicated adult LGBT+ support service of its kind in the Midlands. It holds regular support and social groups.
