Traffic control measure for housing estate along the Dublin Road in Portlaoise

A YELLOW box junction is to be installed between the Kilminchy Roundabout and the entrance to Dún Masc housing estate in Portlaoise to address traffic congestion and alleviate delays for residents exiting the estate.
That was reply given to the Independent cllr Tommy Mulligan at the November meeting of Portlaoise Municipal District Council when he called for such a road traffic measure in the area.
Cllr Mulligan said there’s a considerable volume of traffic using the Dublin Road into the town and the residents in the housing estate are finding it difficult in the area, particularly at rush hours.
“What the resident’s suggestion was the installation of a yellow box junction, so I’m delighted to hear it will be going ahead in the next few weeks,” he said.
