Two women in hospital after Mountmellick crash

TWO women were brought to hospital following a serious two-vehicle crash in Mountmellick.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of the crash, which happened in Irishtown shortly after 8pm last night.
The drivers of both vehicles, a woman in her 60s and a woman in her 20s, were taken to Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore following the collision.
Gardaí set up traffic diversions and the road was closed, between the roundabout at SuperValu and St Vincent’s Community Nursing Unit, while emergency services dealt with the collision.
Both drivers were brought to hospital by ambulance. According to gardaí, their injuries are ‘believed to be non-life-threatening at this time’.
Gardaí added this morning that enquiries are ongoing following the crash.
