Upcoming community and enterprise supports event in Laois

The community and enterprise supports event takes place on Tuesday 25 February from 10am to 2pm in the Liath Luachra Conference Suite at Bloom HQ in Mountrath.
COMMUNITIES and businesses in Laois are invited to a showcase event that will provide a wide range of supports available to help them grow, develop and transition towards a sustainable future.
The event is organised as part of the Midlands Regional Enterprise Plan Pathway for Just Transition programme and takes place on Tuesday 25 February from 10am to 2pm in the Liath Luachra Conference Suite at Bloom HQ in Mountrath.
The free event will provide valuable insights into funding, mentoring, climate action initiatives, and training opportunities.
The initiative is designed to highlight the supports available to communities and enterprises in regions affected by the transition to a green economy. The Just Transition Fund aims to facilitate economic diversification, job creation, and social inclusion by providing financial and advisory support to enterprises, workers and communities adapting to a low-carbon future. In the Midlands, this programme is helping local businesses and organisations access the resources necessary to thrive in a sustainable economy.

Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with representatives from key support organisations, including Laois Local Enterprise Office – Business development supports, mentoring, and funding opportunities. Laois Partnership – Community and rural development initiatives. SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland) – Energy efficiency and climate action supports. The Wheel – Capacity building and support for nonprofit organisations. Laois Climate Action Team – Guidance on local climate initiatives and sustainability projects. LOETB (Laois and Offaly Education and Training Board) – Training and upskilling opportunities. Regenerative Tourism Officer – Supports for sustainable tourism development in the region.
The organisers say that the event “offers a unique opportunity for community groups, businesses and individuals in Laois to learn about the various supports available to help them navigate the transition to a greener economy. Whether you are a local business owner, a nonprofit leader, or a community advocate, this event will provide the information and connections you need to access funding, training, and advisory services.
“Come along to discover how your business or community can benefit from these supports and take the next steps towards a resilient and sustainable future.”
