Rowney and Wynne on fire as Clonaslee win Roinn 5 hurling title

SCOIL Bhríde Clonaslee were crowned Roinn 5 Hurling Champions after running out ten-point winners against Gaelscoil Thromaire.

Tom Rowney and Rory Wynne were the difference makers as they combined with 2-10 between them.

The Clonaslee school it 1-3 without reply with Rory Wynne getting 1-2 of that while Tom Rowney got the other point.

The Trumera school hit back with 1-2 from John Callaghan, before Rowney landed a free as Clonaslee were 1-5 to 1-2 up at half time.

The victors came flying out of the traps with Rowney grabbing three points while Wynne followed up with another point.

Lilly McDonald did grab a goal for The Trumera side, but Scoil Bhríde Clonaslee ended the game with two goals from Ronan Maher and Wynne as they were crowned champions SCORERS: Scoil Bhríde Clonaslee: Tom Rowney 0-7, Rory Wynne 2-3, Ronan Maher 1-0.
