SFC draw throws up mouth-watering pairing

THE draw for Round 3 of the Laois Shopping Centre Senior Football Championship has thrown up one mouthwatering pairing in what will be a winner takes all contest. The draw was made in O’Moore Park following the last of the second round games on Sunday evening.
Portarlington, Courtwood, Portlaoise and St Joseph’s could breath easy as their wins over Stradbally, Ballyroan Abbey, Arles Killeen and Graiguecullen respectively saw them advance to the quarter finals.
The draw for the third round has a couple of neighbourly pairing but the pick of these has to be Graiguecullen v Killeshin. Stradbally will take on The Heath, Ballyroan Abbey will be Park/Ratheniska with the last pairing being Arles Killeen v O’Dempsey’s.
The winners of these game advance to the quarter-finals while the losers drop to Senior ‘B’ where they will be in the pot along with Crettyard, Clonaslee-St Manman’s, Rosenallis and Emo.
The need for a draw for the Laois Shopping Centre IFC quarter-finals was avoided as Kilcavan could not play Ballyroan-Abbey again have met earlier. As a result the pairings are Kilcavan v Annanough and Ballylinan v Ballyroan Abbey.
In the Relegation Playoff Arles Kilcruise come up against Portlaoise.
