THE WOMEN LEADING THE WAY AT MIDLANDS PARK HOTEL
Midlands Park Hotel
International Women’s Day is a moment to recognise the women whose dedication and leadership shape the places we work and the communities we serve. At Midlands Park Hotel, women play a vital role across every department, creating memorable guest experiences and fostering a culture of respect, collaboration and care.
This year, we’re shining a light on some of the incredible women within our team, each bringing their own story, strengths and inspiration. Together, they reflect the resilience and spirit that make Midlands Park Hotel such a special place to work.

Here are their voices.
Emma Ainsworth
Director of Sales
I lead our sales strategy, develop long-lasting client relationships and work with our teams to create exceptional guest experiences.
What I enjoy most is the energy of the role, as every day brings new opportunities and partnerships. The culture here is special, collaborative, supportive and built on people who genuinely care.
A woman who inspires me is my friend Caitriona, who faced breast cancer during pregnancy with extraordinary courage. She welcomed her baby girl while navigating treatment and later endured the loss of her brother. Through everything, she continues to show strength, gratitude and positivity that lifts everyone around her.
Karmia Chergui
Chef
I prepare dishes while maintaining the highest standards of quality and food safety. What I enjoy most is the creativity of crafting food that brings joy to our guests.
Our team culture, built on respect, support and collaboration, makes the workplace positive and motivating.
The woman who inspires me most is my mother, whose strength, patience and selfless dedication shaped my values. She taught me that true impact doesn’t require a title.
I am also inspired by Jennifer Emerson, our Group Director of People & Culture, whose balanced and respectful leadership makes a meaningful difference.
Mary Hinch
Assistant Financial Controller
I help keep the hotel’s finances running smoothly by making sure everything adds up and supports the bigger picture of how we operate.
I really enjoy the mix of teamwork and independence. There’s always something new to dive into and it’s rewarding to see how our work behind the scenes helps the whole hotel thrive.
Our team culture is genuinely special. We collaborate openly, celebrate each other’s strengths and create an environment where everyone feels supported and valued.
I am inspired by all the women in my life — friends, family and colleagues. Each one has her own story, challenges and triumphs, and seeing them succeed in different aspects of their lives is incredibly motivating.
Angharad Peacock
Conference Porter
My role is varied — on any day I might reset a conference room into a concert space with colleagues or prepare rooms alone for the next morning.
The variety and teamwork are my favourite parts of the job. Midlands Park Hotel has one of the most inclusive cultures I’ve experienced in over 30 years of work.
It’s a place where I can truly be myself, thanks to great colleagues and supportive leadership. When pressure is high, managers step in alongside everyone else — moving tables, finding lost items or clearing rooms — and it shows we are genuinely one team.
I’m inspired by many people, but my wife is top of the list. She encourages me to be my authentic self, to be courageous and to stay curious about everything.
Joyce Bray
Interim General Manager
I oversee the day-to-day running of the hotel, ensuring everything operates smoothly and our guests enjoy exceptional experiences.
What I love most is that no two days are the same and the strong teamwork across all departments.
A great example is on busy days when all conference rooms are in use. Teams from HR, Accommodation, Reservations and Accounts step in to help — directing guests, serving food or clearing tables. Their support ensures efficient service and high-quality experiences, and it’s that spirit of collaboration that makes our team so special.
The people who inspire me most are my family, friends and colleagues. If I had to name one, it would be my mother. Her resilience, strength and integrity shaped who I am, and I hope to inspire my children to believe in themselves and always show kindness, respect and empathy.
