Dublin have been relegated from Division 1 of the National Football League.

Ger Brennan's side were beaten 20 points to 1-15 by Galway in Salthill today and will head to Division 2 next season.

The Dubs boss watched the second half from the stands after being sent off following an incident with a Tribesman selector.

Monaghan will join them in the second tier after ending their campaign with a 3-20 to 3-16 loss at home to Donegal.

That win was enough to send Jim McGuinness' side to the league final where they will play Kerry.

The All-Ireland champions snuck in thanks to a 1-21 to 24 point draw with Armagh.

Mayo missed out on the decider after smashing Roscommon by 4-26 to 2-11.

Earlier, Cork were promoted to Division One after they defeated Tyrone 0-22 to 0-19 in Omagh.

They will be joined by Meath in the Division Two final, who overcame Offaly 2-22 to 0-18, with the sides to meet in Croke Park.

Chris Óg Jones, Steven Sherlock, and Colm O'Callaghan all came up with vital scores as Cork finally made it back to the top division.

Despite defeat, Tyrone avoided relegation, with Offaly and Kildare relegated.

Offaly were already down before this weekend, with Kildare joining them after losing 1-25 to 0-25 to Louth.

However, the Lilly Whites will still play in the All-Ireland after winning the Tailteann Cup last season.

In Division Three, an incredible finish saw Wexford defeat Westmeath 2-16 to 1-18 to join Down in being promoted to Division Two.

Westmeath looked set to secure second place heading into the final moments, but a last-second goal from Sean Ryan ensured a second straight promotion for Wexford, who will play Down in the Division Two final.

Limerick and Fermanagh are relegated from the third Division, after Limerick's 2-15 to 0-20 win over the Ulster side.

Sligo's 2-23 to 0-28 win over Clare ensured their third division status for 2027.

In Division Four, Carlow and Longford are promoted after their wins on Sunday.

At the start of the day, seven out of eight teams in the division had a chance of going up, with Carlow and Wicklow in pole position.

Carlow did what they needed to do, with a 4-22 to 2-5 win over Leitrim.

However, Longford took Wicklow's place in the hunt for promotion, as they defeated them 2-21 to 2-20.
