LOI: Galway defeat Waterford in seven goal thriller as Bohemains remain top

Galway United defeated Waterford in the game of the evening as they claimed a 4-3 win at Eamon Deacy Park.

In a first half full of goals, Kristopher Twardek opened the scoring after 10 minutes.

Waterford responded with an own goal in the 35th minute, before Pádraig Amond put them ahead in the 38th minute.

David Hurley drew Galway level from the penalty spot in the stoppage time of the first half, with Twardek getting his second in the 61st minute.

It looked like the win was secured for Galway when Frantz Pierrot scored their fourth, but Waterford gave themselves a chance with a penalty from Tom Lonergan.

In the other games, there were a few other goals, with Bohemians still top after their 0-0 draw away to Shelbourne.

Dundalk are up to fourth after a late Daryl Horgan penalty.

They held on for victory despite Aoth Dervin's 84th-minute red card.

It finished goalless between St Patrick's Athletic and Derry City, while there was also no goals between Drogheda United and Shamrock Rovers.
