Real Madrid claim season revenue record in sport after earning over €1 billion

Real Madrid claim to have broken the revenue record for any sports team in a single season with earnings of over €1 billion in the 2025-26 season.
Los Blancos endured a disappointing campaign on the field as they were eliminated in the Champions League quarter-finals and lost out to Barcelona in LaLiga.
Their financial performance was impressive however, with the club announcing on Tuesday they had earned €1.22bn. They said this level of earning had “not been reached until now by any other sports entity”.

Forbes reported earlier this year that Real’s 2024-25 revenue figure – which equated to €1.1bn – was a record for a sports team in a single season or year, surpassing the 1.23bn US dollars earned by the Dallas Cowboys in 2024.
Real revealed revenue derived from the Bernabeu has more than doubled since the 2018-19 campaign, the season when work began to renovate it.
The club reported a profit after tax of €26.3m, eight per cent up on 2024-25.
Los Blancos said €354.8m had been contributed to tax and social security in the 2025-26 financial year.
