New Disney+ documentary to follow Spencer Matthews on triathlon challenge

A new Hulu Original documentary film on Disney+ is to follow reality TV star Spencer Matthews as he completes seven 140-mile triathlons across seven continents in 21 days.
The 38-year-old’s Breaking Spencer Matthews film will show him completing his Project Se7en challenge in December last year, while also covering issues such as mental health, addiction and grief following the loss of his brother Michael, who died on an expedition to Mount Everest in 1999.
The former Made In Chelsea star said: “This challenge has become about far more than completing seven Ironmans across all seven continents.
“What began as an extreme physical pursuit has evolved into a journey of self-discovery and transformation that has tested me in ways I could never have anticipated.
“There were moments of exhaustion, doubt, and struggle where I had to dig deeper than ever before, treading a fine line between one of the greatest adventures imaginable and life-threatening danger.”
It comes after Matthews’ 2023 Finding Michael Disney+ film showed him attempting to find his brother’s remains.
He said: “After Finding Michael, it means a great deal to continue working with Disney+ and to explore another deeply personal chapter of my life.
“I hope this film inspires people to question their own limits and to see that what feels impossible, physically, emotionally, or personally can often be the very thing that transforms us.”
The film will see Matthews accompanied by his close friend and guide, Chris Taylor, with a release date yet to be announced.
In April, Matthews announced he and his wife, broadcaster Vogue Williams, were expecting their fourth child together.
Last year, Matthews launched a podcast “exploring human potential” called Untapped, having taken on a number of endurance challenges for charity, including setting a world record by running 30 marathons in 30 days across the Jordanian desert in 2024.
