British actor Robert Pattinson’s voice is unrecognisable in the trailer for his eerie new A24 film Primetime.
Pattinson, 40, steps into the shoes of American TV host Chris Hansen in the upcoming drama which documents the origins of the presenter’s true-crime NBC Dateline programme, To Catch A Predator.
The series, which ran from 2004 to 2007, followed investigations where host Hansen would confront adult men who arrived at a sting house to meet underage girls.

Working with law enforcement, Hansen and his team used hidden cameras and actors pretending to be minors to catch and arrest the alleged paedophiles, and the show was broadcast to millions of viewers.
Pattinson can be heard in the newly released trailer imitating the host’s voice, asking questions that he would often put to his subjects.
He said: “What would have happened if I wasn’t here? You see how this looks, right? At the end of the day, man must be held accountable for the decisions that he makes. Do you agree?
“Do you watch television? Well, there’s something you should know.
“I’m Chris Hansen from Dateline NBC, and you’re about to be a part of television history.”
The series was cancelled after the suicide of Texas district attorney William “Bill” Conradt Jr, who shot himself after officers and film crew reportedly entered his home after he was targeted in an undercover sting operation.
His sister, Patricia Conradt, later brought a lawsuit against NBC alleging that the TV company failed to protect her brother. The case was settled in 2008.

Directed by Lance Oppenheim, the film also stars Unbelievable actress Merritt Wever, Focker-In-Law star Skyler Gisondo and singer Phoebe Bridgers.
Known for the songs, Scott Street, Motion Sickness and and Kyoto, the film marks Bridgers’ acting debut .
The film is the latest of Pattinson’s screen appearances this year, which include The Drama and the upcoming blockbusters The Odyssey and Dune Part Three.
Pattinson is also known for 2025’s Die My Love alongside Jennifer Lawrence and the sci-fi comedy Mickey 17.
He rose to fame in the Twilight franchise, playing vampire Edward Cullen alongside Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.
