Síle Seoige to explore parenting, anxiety, and bullying in new TG4 series

Síle Seoige is set to explore societal issues like parenting, anxiety, and bullying in a new TG4 documentary series.

In the first episode of 'Síle Seoige: An Saol Mar Atá', Seoige will look at the challenges that come with being a parent.

Airing on February 11th, the episode will follow Seoige as she visits journalist and new mother Siún Ní Dhuinn to discuss the highs and lows of becoming a parent.

Orla O’Connor of the National Women’s Council will highlight the lows when she discusses Ireland's childcare crisis.

Seoige will then see an effective childcare system in action in Norway, when she visits Niamh Ní Bhroin who is raising a family in Oslo.

She will also speak to parents who have a child with a disability, a psychologist, and journalist Evanne Ní Chuilinn.

Anxiety

Episode two of the new series will focus on the prevalence of anxiety in Ireland today.

Seoige will speak on her own experience with anxiety, and gain insight into the condition from psychologist and neuroscientist Professor Ian Robertson.

Airing on February 18th, Seoige will also speak to Professors John Cryan and Ted Dinan about their research into the connection between the gut and the brain.

The relationships between anxiety as a woman, grief and anxiety, and neurodiversity and anxiety will also be explored.

Bullying

Episode three, which focuses on bullying, will be released on February 25th.

Seoige will speak to screenwriter Antóin Beag Ó Colla about the impact bullying had on him as a young man.

Psychologist Allison Keating will provide a greater understanding of bullying, while Dr Tom Felle of the University of Galway will discuss the bullying public representatives.

Labour Party leader Ivana Bacik, Dr Niamh Ní Bhroin, Aisling Ní Dhonnabháin, and Síle Ní Chonghaile will also feature throughout the episode.
