ALDI said it will continue to review the market daily to ensure it remains the best value retailer on price, having cut the prices of hundreds of products over the last number of months.
Niall O’Connor, country managing director, ALDI Ireland, said: “ALDI will never be beaten on price, which is why we’ve been cutting the prices of hundreds of products right across our range over recent months as we continue to deliver on our promise to our customers. We believe no one should have to choose between affordability, taste, and quality, and we will always offer the best value to Irish shoppers.
“We’re mindful that Christmas has been a time of increased spending for consumers, and budgets have been stretched. That is why we continue to lower our prices so that our customers can always be sure that when they shop with ALDI, they can get great quality products at the best price, right across our range.
“This reduction in butter price is the latest in our ongoing dedication to price cuts on household essentials. We aim to always have a discount versus the more expensive full price supermarkets and to keep our prices as low as possible, and our continual focus on the market means we can and will respond quickly.”
