Boy hospitalised following hotel fire

A boy was injured following a fire at a hotel in Co Waterford on Monday night.
The fire broke out at around 10.15pm in a bedroom at The Sands Hotel in Tramore.
Fire services, ambulance and gardaí were on scene within minutes of the alert being issued.
He was transferred to University Hospital Waterford (UHW) by ambulance and was treated for symptoms of smoke inhalation and a burn to his skin. His injuries are believed to be non life-threatening.
In a statement, gardaí said: they “assisted emergency services (relating) to a fire at a commercial property at Tramore, Co. Waterford at approximately 10.15pm.
“A male juvenile was treated for injuries believed not to be life threatening at this time.”
Gardaí are not treating the incident as suspicious.
