Ciara Mageean wins gold for Ireland in 1500m final at European Championships

Ireland’s Ciara Mageean has won gold in the final of the women’s 1,500m at the European Athletics Championships in Rome.

Silver went to France’s Agathe Guilemot and bronze to Esther Guerrero of Spain.

Mageean previously won silver in the 1,500m at the European championships in Munich two years ago, and won bronze back in 2016.
