Cyclist (40s) killed in Kildare hit-and-run

A man in his 40s has been killed in a hit-and-run in Co Kildare.
The crash, involving a cyclist, is believed to have happened on the R445 Dublin Road, between around 10.30pm on Thursday, July 9th and 12.30pm on Friday, July 10th, when the cyclist was discovered.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body has since been removed to Naas General Hospital where a postmortem will take place.
The road remains closed with local diversions in place.
Gardaí have appealed to anyone who may have been travelling on the R445 Dublin Road between Kildare town and the roundabout at Junction 12 of the N7 between 10.30pm on Thursday and 12.30pm on Friday to come forward.
Those who were travelling in the area during that time and who may have camera or dash footage or mobile phone recordings have been asked to make their footage available to investigating gardaí.
