Dash to 44 Challenge

Ballyfin National School are embarking on one of the most unusual, and challenging, fundraisers seen in recent years. Participants face the gruelling challenge of running a lap of each of the 44 GAA club pitches in Laois in a single day, Saturday next, 22 March.

The fundraiser is aimed at raising the finance to complete Ballyfin National School’s new astro-turf facility.

Former Laois and Ballyfin footballer James Finn, Laois County Councillor Tommy Mulligan, and international athletes Dearbhail Cuddy and Ber Spillane leading the charge.

On Saturday, the runners will meet up at Ballyfin National School at 5.45am before travelling to Rosenallis where the Challenge will kick off at 6am. It is planned that the event will round off at 9pm back at Ballyfin where the Grand Finale will feature a special lap of honour with Ballyfin NS and Kolbe School students.

It is hoped that local communities will gather at their pitches to cheer on runners.

This isn't just a run – it's a story of determination, community, and making the impossible possible.
