Police have repeated an appeal for information after the double murder of a woman and her eight-year-old daughter in Ballymena.

The woman, 39, and girl were found dead, with a 41-year-old man, at a house in the Co Antrim town on Monday.

All three were related, and were originally from Poland, although the girl is understood to have been born in Northern Ireland.

A vigil was held in their memory in the town on Wednesday.

On Friday a police spokesperson confirmed that the woman and her daughter were murdered, and appealed for anyone with information to speak to officers.

“Our investigation into their murder, along with the sudden death of the 41-year-old man, will continue,” they said.

“I’m keen to offer assurance that there is no ongoing risk to the public, and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with our investigation.”

They added that the family and friends have been left “both shaken and heartbroken”.

“This absolute tragedy has saddened the lives of so many, from loved ones to the wider community, and will be felt for many years to come,” they said.

“Family members, who are left trying to come to terms with their loss, have asked for privacy at this difficult time.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference 482 of 13/07/26.
