People Before Profit has unveiled a banner across the Ha'penny Bridge, calling for an end of 100 years of Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil in government.

Party leader, Richard Boyd-Barrett, said the election is not over before it has even started.

"I think people want change, and we shouldn't buy the narrative that Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael are just going to waltz back in," he said.

"I think there'll be a very different dynamic in this general election when people focus on the things that matter.

"We're saying if we get rid of Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael, there is a possibility for real change and a left government."
