Hospital overcrowding: Over 700 patients waiting for beds in Irish hospitals
708 people are waiting for beds in hospitals across the country, according to figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO)
435 people are waiting in the emergency departments, while 273 are in wards elsewhere in hospitals.
The hospital with the highest number of patients on trolleys is University Hospital Limerick, with 89 people waiting for a bed.
26 people are in the emergency department, with 63 elsewhere in the hospital.
82 patients are waiting for a bed at University Hospital Cork, with 71 in the emergency department.
There are also 82 people waiting for a bed at University Hospital Galway, with 47 in the emergency department.
At Letterkenny University Hospital, 53 people are waiting for a bed.
