Matt Dunne Auctioneer sold 42 ½ acres plus derelict cottage Tinnakill, Camross, Co. Laois by public auction on Friday Oct 3rd

The holding was offered in 3 Lots.

Lot 1 c.40 acres marginal land with the river Nore as a boundary was competitively bid to €255k (five different bidders).

Lot 2 derelict cottage on 2 ½ acres was competitively bid to €125k (reserve €50k) chased by four interested parties.

Then Matt Dunne put the entire to the floor and that’s when the auction really took off!

The accumulative so far of Lot 1 and 2 was €380k – and then two bidders slugged it out to force the Auctioneers hand to sell the holding in its entirety, in one Lot.

The winner was Mr. Tom O’Grady Solicitor, “Acting in Trust” for a client and the hammer dropped at €400k to a round of applause.

Matt Dunne said his clients, the Hyland family, were thrilled with the outcome and stated he has many more underbidders looking for similar holdings.
