Over 27,000 young workers earn less than the minimum wage, according to the National Youth Council of Ireland (NYCI)

A poll conducted by RED C on behalf of NYCI shows that over four in five (82 per cent) young people aged 18–24 feel negatively impacted by rising costs.

The 'State of our Young Nation: A report into the lives of Irish 18-29-year-olds' results earlier this year showed the most pressing concerns for young people in Ireland are housing (67 per cent) and the cost of living (62 per cent).

The findings show 82 per cent of respondents believe the housing crisis in Ireland disproportionately impacts young people, placing significant strain on their ability to become independent.
