The incident occurred around 1.30 am in the morning in March 2023 after gardaí noticed the Dublin man (44) driving his Jaguar car in a suspicious manner, Dublin Circuit Criminal Court heard on Friday.

Following the incident, a male (aged in his 20s) was conveyed to Tallaght University Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Gerald McQuillan of Grattan Wood, Dublin 13, had earlier grabbed the steering wheel of his then partner's car, causing it to spin across lanes of traffic.
