The 2025 Portlaoise Daffodil Collection for the Irish Cancer Society was a great success, yielding a total of €29,000. This was helped greatly by local schools' involvement.

James Griffin, Davitt Road, Mountmellick and formerly of Ballynane, Annascaul, Co. Kerry died peacefully, and in the loving care of his heartbroken family on Thursday 20 March. James was predeceased by his sisters Agnes and Kay.
