John Robert Patterson, Ballymorris, Portarlington and formerly of Corrawallen County Leitrim passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday 1 July. Predeceased by his father Walter and mother Lula.

Marian O’Shea (née McMahon), Newtown, Crettyard passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday 12 June 2025. Marian was predeceased by her father John, brothers Brian and Keith.

A YOUNG mother-of-four with lung cancer has appealed to the government to recognise the desperate financial struggles faced by many people with serious illnesses.

It comes after the Irish Cancer Society warned that cancer survival rates are unlikely to improve because services are underfunded.
