The showers and rain will gradually ease from the southwest through the afternoon with brighter conditions developing, along with just isolated showers. However, spells of rain will continue over Ulster.

Saturday will be wet and blustery with rain spreading northeastwards across the country, turning heavy or thundery in places with localised flooding possible.
