Weather to remain unsettled over the weekend and into next week

Met Éireann are forecasting a largely unsettled weekend ahead with a mix of showers and some sunshine.
Saturday will be wet and blustery with rain spreading northeastwards across the country, turning heavy or thundery in places with localised flooding possible.
The rain will clear to showers and spells of sunshine through the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 16 to 21 degrees in fresh to strong and gusty southerly winds, veering southwesterly as the rain clears.
It will be breezy and showery on Sunday, with widespread showers turning heavy or thundery in places which may result in localised flooding.
Showers will merge into longer, more persistent spells of rain through the day, particularly in the west and northwest, with limited sunny intervals developing. Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees with fresh and gusty southerly winds, easing mostly moderate in the evening.
Overall, they said it will remain unsettled with spells of rain and showers going into next week. Feeling cooler than recent days with temperatures reaching the mid to high teens.
Sunny spells and widespread showers on Monday. Showers will turn heavy and possibly thundery at times before easing in the evening and becoming mostly confined to the west.
Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees with moderate to fresh westerly winds, easing light to moderate through the evening.
Showers continuing to feed in from the west on Tuesday, though not as heavy and widespread as preceding days.
Spells of sunshine too, though more persistent cloud and a longer spell of rain may continue to affect southern and southeastern coastal areas. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees with light to moderate southerly winds veering northwesterly through the day.
Current indications show another unsettled day on Wednesday with further showers and the chance of a more persistent spell of rain moving across the south. Highest temperatures of 15 to 17 degrees with mostly light westerly or variable winds.
Beyond that, Met Éireann said there is a good deal of uncertainty looking further ahead, but there is a signal for unsettled weather to continue with further spells of rain and showers.
