Sean Egan (39) was found not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter by diminished responsibility of Sharon Crean on December 14th, 2022, at College Avenue in Mountmellick, Co Laois.

Catherine Crean said that a part of her died when she lost her daughter Sharon in such violent circumstances having suffering 42 injuries to her body.

Eight women and four men spent three hours deliberating at a trial at the Central Criminal Court in Cork last month before finding Sean Egan (39) guilty of the manslaughter of mother of one, Sharon Crean, in December 2022.
