Appeal for missing Portlaoise man (89)
Joe Styles (89) is missing from his home in Portlaoise
AN appeal has been launched for an elderly Portlaoise man, who has been missing from his home since early this morning.
Joe Styles, who is aged nearly 90, left home at 8.15am on St Stephen’s Day and his family are concerned, as he had not returned by 6pm. He is driving a Red VW Golf 12 LS 470.
Sharing a photo on the Stradbally Noticeboard social media page this evening, Joe’s nephew Niall O’Loughlin said: ‘It is completely out of character. He may be parked up or driving somewhere lost at this stage. It has been reported to Portlaoise Garda Station.'
Portlaoise GAA also shared the appeal on social media, saying: ‘If anyone in the club can keep an eye out for Joe. He's a great Town hurling supporter.’
