Burst main cuts water supply in Laois

A BURST water main is causing supply disruptions in a large Laois town, with outages likely to continue for the afternoon.
The burst main is affecting supply in Portarlington and surrounding areas.
In a notification today, Uisce Éireann said: ‘Repairs to a burst water main may cause supply disruptions to Portarlington and surrounding areas in Co Laois. Works are scheduled to take place until 2pm on 17 June.’
The utility recommends that people allow 3-4 hours after the estimated restoration time for the water supply to return fully.

Meanwhile, the Graiguecullen area is facing water and traffic disruptions this week, due to leak detection works.
Uisce Éireann warned that The Mall, Graiguecullen and surrounding areas may experience water outages from Monday 16 – Friday 20 June because of the scheduled works.
A traffic management plan will be in place for the duration of the project, which will be carried out daily from 8am to 6pm. Water supply may take 3-4 hours to return fully to all affected properties.
