A WORKSHOP for the full membership of Laois Public Participation Network (PPN) was held online recently as part of its Climate Action Project.

Laois PPN Chairperson John Oxley welcomed the attendees and outlined how Laois PPN supports community groups with information on a wide variety of funding opportunities.

The aim of the online workshop was to provide  groups with the information and skills to successfully secure funding for their projects.

The training was delivered by Ailish Irvine from Irvine Training who has extensive experience of providing training to community groups across Ireland.

As well as the workshop the Laois PPN Budget and Work Plan 2025 were ratified.

There was also a raffle held on the night which was won by Tom Gorry from Mountmellick Men’s Shed who won a voucher for dinner for two at Castle Durrow.

Laois PPN Co-Ordinator Dan Bergin thanked the community groups that attended on the night and wished them success in securing funding for their projects.

Laois PPN consists of 700+ member groups from the community, social inclusion and environmental pillars. All groups registered with Laois PPN are given the opportunity to attend Laois PPN events. Any group wishing to join Laois PPN can do so by completing the application on the Laois PPN website at www.laoisppn.ie

Laois PPN has three key functions of community representation, training and capacity building and as an information and network hub.
