Council issues Laois weather alert
Weather alert for Laois
LAOIS Co Council has issued a cold weather alert, as temperatures plunge across the county.
A Met Éireann Status Yellow Low Temperature/Ice warning is in place for Laois from 11pm tonight (Thursday) until 8am tomorrow morning.
A council notice this morning warned people to be wary of:
Widespread frost and some icy stretches, with minimum air temperatures of -3 degrees Celsius, possibly lower locally.
