THE first of two men charged with allegedly trafficking €119,000 worth of cocaine was sent for trial this week to the present sittings of Naas Circuit Court.
Dylan Carmody (26) of Kilmalogue Park, Portarlington, and Anthony Quinn (33) of Botley Court, also in Portarlington, were both originally charged with possession, and possession with intent to supply of the cocaine at North Lodge, Grangenolvin, Kilkea on 30 November 2023.
However, this week it was revealed that a third charge of trafficking had been added to his file.
Sergeant Dave Hanrahan said DPP directions for Mr Carmody were for “trial by indictment” to be sent forward to the present sittings of the Circuit Court, which began on 14 January.
Barrister Aisling Murphy said co-defendant Anthony Quinn was not in court on the day as “he is on bail on this, but received a prison sentence yesterday” on an unrelated matter. The case was adjourned until 26 February for his book of evidence.
