A MAN received a six-month prison sentence with a further 12-months suspended for charges relating to sexual acts with a child aged 12 at Naas Circuit Court recently.

Dylan McCarthy’s father, Eamon McCarthy, who gave evidence during the trial, cried after the verdicts were read out

It is the state’s case that Dylan McCarthy (29) died following an incident in which he received both punches and “a vicious kick” to the head from Calvin Dunne (24)

It is alleged that Mr Dooley and an unnamed accomplice were observed by gardaí moving eight boxes from a van to a shed rented by Mr Dooley

Ms Justice Biggs said that there are three verdicts open to them: guilty of murder; not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter; or not guilty of murder or manslaughter.
