A PORTLAOISE woman was banned from driving for 15 years and given a six-month suspended sentence when she appeared at the local district court last week.
Laura Agnes Kerry (43), Dunamaise View, Portlaoise appeared before the court for the finalisation of her case.
She had previously pleaded guilty to driving without a license, insurance, NCT and tax on her car on 19 September last year at Green Mill Lane, Portlaoise.
Ms Kerry had been disqualified from driving at the time.
Judge Andrew Cody asked who owned the car at the time, to which the defendant’s barrister Andrew Dunne said it was his client’s son-in-law’s car.
Ms Kerry was fined €250 for having no tax and €250 for having no NCT. For having no insurance, a six-month custodial sentence was imposed, suspended for three years, fined €500 and disqualified from driving for 15 years.
The other matter of driving without a licence was taken into consideration.
